Well, we’ve reach our final post for 2008. I want to take a moment to thank everyone who’s supported my projects and bought my books throughout the last year. I’ve met a great number of you at conventions and store signings and I want you to now that it was a pleasure meeting each and everyone of you. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you again and meeting new friends in the coming year.
As 2008 draws to a close, 2009 starts off a bit slower. My only confirmed appearance so far will be San Diego Comic Con International 2009, which is a loooong way off. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I missed the oppportunity to exhibit at the Phoenix Comic Con in January. Ah, well.
The end of the year is also a good time to clean out some files, tighten up email lists, and set new protocols. While this is the last post of ‘08, next week will be the first post of ‘09 featuring the last page of the Mystery Project, Crown Of Spears. After that, these updates will just go out monthly. I’ve accumulated quite a list of subscribers to the update over the past couple of years. If you’d rather not receive further updates, just send an email to twenty2six@gmail.com with the word “unsubscribe” as the subject. No explanations necessary, I’ll pull you off the list, although I’ll hate to see you go.
And with that, I’ll wish you all a big HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Here’s page 5:
“’twas a couple days before Christmas and what did I get?”
Another page of art from Tony and Reno’s mystery project! I’m sure you were all on the edge of your seats wondering what was gonna happen next…here it is…it’s…not much. Only a little pinch of suspense, foreshadowing what’s to come.
I just kinda noticed that these pages take place right around Christmas, in fact, next week’s page will be Christmas day. Entirely a coincidence, else I would have planned it all a little better.
Hoping everyone has a great holiday. If you’re travelling, please be safe, patient, and considerate of others. Wishing you all the best!
Tony
Yes, I know…I missed last week’s installment of Crown Of Spears. Here it is in all it’s glory! I want to take a moment to thank everyone that stopped by Charlie’s Comics on Dec. 6th. The turnout was great and a good time was had by all. If you missed this one, have no fear. Charlie usually has an event on Free Comic Book Day, which is in May or April, I forget which. I will, of course, keep you posted here as the event draws closer. Support the Tucson comics scene! Support Indy comics!
Here’s page 2 from our mystery project, Crown Of Spears. I’d love to hear any and all comments on this one. I think it’s awesome, but I’m biased.
Last reminder: The event at Charlie’s Comic Books, this Saturday, Dec. 6th, 11am to 5pm. Charlie’s Comic Books, 5445 E. 22nd, Tucson AZ. Comic creators, Star Wars characters and me!
Since it’s the start of the holiday season, I thought I’d kick it off with a series of weekly treats until I run out of them. I’m going to display a new page of art right here every week from a new mystery project I’m working on with my crew. I hope you like it and I hope you take a moment to let me know what you think. This is page one from our mystery project called Crown Of Spears. Enjoy!
Oh, BTW, don’t forget the big event at Charlie’s Comic Books on Dec. 6, from 11am to 5pm. I’ll be there along with several other creators, signing books and hobnobbing with any and all that come by. Charlie’s Comic Books, 5445 E. 22nd St., Tucson AZ.
Wall of Angel #5 was reviewed at Dispatches From The Great White North by Jonathan Gilbert.
It’s a great little review and I want to thank Jonathan for his opinion although I’m somewhat biased given that he liked it. Hey, he tried it and liked it. You should too! Anyway, give the review a read and maybe it’ll sway you. For some reason, it’s got the cover to issue six on it, but it’s a pretty cool cover too. Here’s the real cover for your perusal.
Jonathan A. Gilbert is a newspaper columnist, feature writer and freelance comic book writer and editor who lives in Port Stanley Ontario, Canada. His work can be found all over the place including at http://cepublishing.wetpaint.com .

I’ll be attending, but not as an exhibitor. If you’re in the area, please stop by and show your support for the local Tucson comics scene. I’ll be wearing a TwentyToSix T-Shirt. Make sure to stop me and say hi.
Wall Of Angels artist, Reno Maniquis’ interview with Allen Klingelhoets has been posted at Jazma Online. This is the second interview we’ve had with Allan and it was great fun. I learned more about Reno by reading his interview than from any conversation I’ve had with him and I’m sure you’ll find it interesting too. You can read Reno’s interview here.
Charlie’s Comics in Tucson is hosting a Creator’s Event at the store on December 6th to benefit Casa De Los Ninos. There will be nearly a dozen comics creators from Tucson, Phoenix and New Mexico, including yours truly, Anthony Garcia. Two local radio stations will also be on hand to chronicle the whole event. So, if you’re in the Tucson area make sure to stop in. I’ll post a reminder as we get closer to the date. Remember…Charlie’s Comics. Cuz if you love comics…I mean REALLY love comics…Charlie’s Comics is the place to go! (How’s that for a plug, Charlie?) That’s Charlie’s Comics at 5445 E 22nd St, Tucson, AZ 85711, (520) 320-0279
In other news, and just in time for Halloween, my friend Albert has done a parody of the current financial crisis, set to the tune of Monster Mash. He calls it the Monster Math and it’s posted on youtube here. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Recently, Reno and I were interviewed by Allen Klingelhoets for JazmaOnline. My interview was posted this weekend and you can read it at here.
Reno’s should be up shortly and I’ll post when it’s available. Hopefully, you’ll get some deeper insight into Wall Of Angels as well as getting to know the creators better.
If all were right with the world, and all economies, American and personal, were once again fluid, I would be at the Birmingham International Comics Show, or BICS, in B’ham England right now. I’ve exhibited at this show for two years running and have found it to be the friendliest and most rewarding con to do. Organizer Shane Chesby is a gem as well as his cronies at SmallZone and SCAR. So here’s a big hello from us, we miss you! Hopefully we’ll get this together for next year.
Interestingly, I went to our local CostPlus World Market (looking for Nutella) and found this little ornament of Big Ben. The hands display TwentyToSix!
We’ve had the pleasure of hosting Katja Schick of Schick Design these last two weeks. She came out from Regensburg Germany in Bavaria. We’ve had some fun doing all the touristy things as well as doing some design work on the TwentyToSix logo. Sadly, she leaves us tomorrow morning. We miss you already, Katja!
